The
president brief the delegates on the current issues of the state and
told of the improved security situation with the help of the local
population, though the head said that the issue of the pirates is still
one problem that can be overcome as the scope of the pirates dealing is
too wide, the head of the state told the delegates that the illegal sea
travelers from Ethiopia and the Southern Somalia is major obstacle that
needs to stop.
The
illegal sea travelers problem will be a thing of the passed soon as the
government took control of all the routes used by the illegal
transporter” adding that “ we request the UN to help the IDPS in Punt
land with swiftness s they are undergoing very hard time” said the
president of Puntland H.E Mahamud Muuse Hirsi.
The
internal security and the head of DDR Gen. Abdullahi Siciid Samatar,
give terse overview of the security situation and the task they played
with the help of the citizen, the Business community at the same time
donating nine (9) vehicles to the Police department for patrolling so as
to have a better security. The Police academy in Armo is intact with
number recruits completing their training with special skills on guiding
and protecting the humanitarianrganization.
A new
police recruit of about 150 personnel are undergoing thorough and
special skill impartment for the humanitarian protection” said the
minister.
The
head of UNDP Mr. Mark Bowden spoke on behalf of the other delegates and
said that it is great pleasure to be here since it is first time to be
in bosaso, praising the government for its full commandment on the
security improvement and promised to relay the information with his
bosses in Nairobi.
The
head of UNCHR Mr. Guillermo Battochi, who gave brief overview of the
humanitarian his organization have so far gave to the IDPS in Punt land,
as for the request of the head of the state on the assistance on the
illegal immigrates and the pirates, he promised to take up with E.U. so
as to have a lasting solution.
